27 May - 29 May 2026In the wake of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the Weimar Triangle has intensified its efforts. The “Weimar Agenda for a Strong, Geopolitical EU” of May 2024 underscores support for Ukraine as an investment in European security and calls for advancing the enlargement process. The relevance of the format has risen further due to the current U.S. administration’s inconsistent stance towards the transatlantic alliance. Against this backdrop, a joint approach among the countries of the Weimar Triangle and Ukraine is essential.
This roundtable will bring together experts from academia and think tanks in Germany, France, Poland and Ukraine. Building on their discussions, participants will develop practical proposals on how the Weimar Triangle and Ukraine can cooperate more closely to advance European integration and prepare for the accession of new member states. Their key findings and recommendations will be discussed with Berlin-based decision-makers and distilled into a publication.
