The focus on the Weimar Triangle, together with the Foundation’s interdisciplinary work at the intersection of culture and politics, offers a distinctive trilateral perspective on the broad topic of transformation. Three guiding questions provide a common thread linking the projects within this focus topic:
- Are the approaches to transformation processes in the three countries of the Weimar Triangle primarily driven by national considerations, or do they reveal common European patterns?
- Can the interplay of political and cultural reflection and analysis inspire innovative, forward-looking approaches to shaping transformation?
- How can countries across Europe learn from one another to positively support and shape transformation processes?
The multidisciplinary projects within the framework of this focus topic are intended to contribute to shaping transformation processes in Europe.
Through multi-year focus topics, the Genshagen Foundation addresses key issues that are central to Europe's future. From 2020 to 2022, it focused on the topic “Shaping Cohesion—Neighborhood in Europe”.
